Red Bull Racing couldn't have had a better weekend on track. One Grand Prix completed and the Austrian team scored the maximum number of points possible. With 44 points, Red Bull were able to create a nice gap to the competition right from the start in Bahrain.
After the first race of what is set to be a very long F1 season, five of the 10 teams have their first points. Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren and Aston Martin each saw both their drivers cross the finish line in the top ten. Ferrari are Red Bull's closest pursuer for now. The difference to the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez is already 17 points. Mercedes, meanwhile, has 16 points in their pocket. This puts the team third in the constructors' standings.
