Ferrari fell back considerably in 2020 as they have struggled to keep up with the midfield at times this season. There is hope that Ferrari could be running higher up the pack next season.

In 2019, after the summer stoppage, Ferrari shot out of the starting blocks and everyone was wondering where they had got their pace from. Ferrari appeared to have pulled a trick, which later had to be reversed by the FIA. Ferrari lost a lot of performance as a result, and are straggling sixth, in the Constructors' Championship.

Ferrari are 50 hp behind

''Can we reach Mercedes? That may be too much to ask, because we have to make up for 40 to 50 hp. But it would be a great step forward if we could get on the same level as Renault and Honda," said Mattia Binotto to Motorsport.com. The Italian hopes to take that step as early as 2021.

You need to set your sights on Mercedes not Renault and Honda. You are aspiring to be middle of the pack.
