Haas has come under the magnifying glass of the World Anti-Doping Agency after the livery of the new car clearly shows the colours of the Russian flag. These same colours have also been used on the team shirt which Mick Schumacher was seen wearing in the Bahrain paddock.

Haas push the boundaries

The WADA is investigating Haas after the presentation of the new livery of the VF-21. The new car from Haas with new sponsor Uralkali is dressed in Russian colours, although the sponsor used to have the colours green and red. Where the FIA and CAS accepted Haas's livery, WADA investigated.

Russian athletes are not allowed to compete under the Russian flag due, nor can they display this flag on their clothing, equipment or personal items. Where the question is whether the livery falls under one of these three parts, that of a driver's clothing can of course be said.

Russian shirt by Haas

In that respect, Haas is not making it easy for themselves, because Mick Schumacher, who appeared on the paddock during the winter test of Formula 2, shows the new shirt from Haas. It is clear that the colours of the Russian flag have been used.

The question is whether Haas will get away with this. Russia has been banned as a country for a doping violation, and WADA will not take that lightly.

what is wada going to do ? nothing. it's comical that they are even bothering to make a statement about an investigation. sadly, haas are becoming the de-facto joke in F1 and this is simply another step in the jester's direction; steiner as mgr., keeping grosjean for as long as they did, now mazepin, these colours, already stating that they will not develop this year's car before it has even seen a race-track ? they all signal that haas is mailing it in. it made sense to use auto-racing as a vehicle to drive his company's growth in europe because it worked so well for him in the u.s., but F1 is so so much more complex, competitive and expensive than nascar. it does seem that gene bit off more than he could chew.

Last time I looked, the colors of thge American flag are Red, White and Blue, which might be appropriate for an American team.

WADA can't do anything (and has plenty of more serious matters to deal with), because the car livery of a USA team is a private matter. A F1 team isn't that country team (which UK team is the national one?), and HAAS isn't a russian team. Moreover, red and blue colors are also typical US.
