Lewis Hamilton was told by his team to come in for a set of new intermediates towards the end of the Turkish Grand Prix. The Brit thinks it was unnecessary and when he hears that Esteban Ocon finished the race on the set of tyres he started on, he is sure the pit stop was a mistake.
Hamilton not happy with pit stop
At the French Canal+ Hamilton is told that Ocon finished the race on one set of tyres. The seven-time world champion reacts surprised and doesn't know exactly what to say: "Did he really do that?"
"If Ocondid it, then I could do it, for sure," Hamilton then says. He himself was brought in for a fresh set of intermediates with less than ten laps to go. With that Hamilton lost two positions and had to hope that Pierre Gasly would not try to overtake him.
I kind of wish he was allowed to keep them on, and I kind of wish they would have popped on him. the comment section would have been a lot more fun.
Lewis just drive the car and let your team make the calls, they have more information than u but yes sometimes they will make the wrong call just like sometimes u might crash the car. You’re a bloody team so work with them and stop being such a bloody control freak!
He should of stayed out and pushed He could of got a dnf then would have been the best result

I stated before the race it was hamilton's to lose and only his trademark stupidity will again be his downfall. 3 wins from the last 15 starts in the fastest car is testimony to that.

Hi, I'm Max Verstappen. I have a face that looks like I'm looking into the back of a spoon. I messed up in Silverstone by not leaving Lewis enough room and then I can't believe he celebrated his home win while I was in hospital at deaths door. My heart stopped while I was in the hospital. Only because Lewis won with Max (that's me) points. But I got him back in Monza by crashing into him. Yeah I know I'm a cheat but you gotta do what you gotta do right? I couldn't beat him so I had to do it. I just want to thank Red Bull for giving me a car that's making me look better than I actually am. The last 7 years has been humiliating for me and even this year I was once 33 points in the lead but I squandered all of it. I know I'll never be better than Lewis but I might be able to still win - just like Rosberg. Not as good but got lucky. I can safely say I'm no fan of Verstappen or Leclerc but I'm a fan of exciting aggressive driving. Lulu will never be part of that equation because he thinks he's way better than what he truly is. Lewis should have boxed on the first call and he asked ''why'',I guess he didn't have a clue about how many people he hurt by that.
Mercedes definitely blew the strategy but not by pitting Hamilton late in the race. He should have pitted about two laps after Perez and would have come out in front of him. As shown by the speed of Perez at the end of the race, Hamilton could likely have overtaken LeClair and Max and of course Bottas would have give him the lead for the win.
Panicking under pressure. Not good signs for Mercedes-Benz and Hamilton.
Lewis could have finished the race on those tires, but what position? Ocon said he was very close to a puncture and his tires still had profile on the outside. Also, we all witnessed Vettel’s performance on slicks… Toto said he was losing time, and this would only add up getting closer to the end of the race. We’ll never know the result, but I do not believe the podium was possible without a pitstop, I think he should have undercut Perez.
From the horses mouth Pirelli stated that Hamilton would NOT have made it to the end of the race on the original tyres.....so by over turning the teams call and delaying the pitstop, he lost the podium spot......plain and simple

If lewis would have done that he would have lost against leclerc, perez and gasly. Look at wat ocon lost in the last laps. And lewis had already pushed way harder then ocon did.
