Leclerc saw Red Bull do something surprising: 'Red Bull made it clear'
Charles Leclerc had to make do with a dropout in Barcelona last weekend, which saw him drive Max Verstappen to first place. In the race, he noticed a surprising situation, the Monegasque tells us in conversation with The Race.
Indeed, after Leclerc dropped out, Verstappen and Sergio Perez still had George Russell driving in front of them. As the Mexican failed to get past his front runner, Red Bull Racing decided to instruct Perez to let Verstappen drive past him.
Ferrari treats Leclerc and Sainz equally for now
According to Leclerc, at Ferrari, for the time being there is no question of Carlos Sainz or him being given preference by the team. The driver believes that the Spaniard has enough qualities to start fighting for wins quickly and that there is therefore no reason for the Italians to have more confidence in him.
"Red Bull made it clear what their intentions are and they did it very early in the season. But concerning us, I don’t know. I haven’t spoken about it with Mattia and I haven’t heard about anything of this for now," he said in the interview. The difference between the two drivers is 39 points in Leclerc's favor.
Max has beaten Checo 5-1 in qualifying and 6-0 in races (if you count Max being well ahead in the two races in retired in).
Slimy of Leclerc to infer there is something underhanded about how Perez is being treated.
Max was 1.5 seconds per lap quicker than Checo in Spain with 17 laps to go. Just a matter of time before Max would have got past.
Once Charles understands a little more about race tactics he will understand RB's decision.
For now he should focus more on reducing his error rate and extract the most out of a great car.
Aw. Come to n Charles. I am sure the team is observant enough to know who the No 1 driver is at the team.

Right. Sainz is a good driver no doubt but charles has just raised the bar this year.
Let's see what happens if Charles is 1.4 seconds a lap faster and gaining on Carlos ahead of him and them on different strategies.
Exactly if the driver coming up behind his teammate is faster they other driver will have to move,
Ferrari is first and foremost ALWAYS focused on the Constructors Championship. Mattia stated that to start the year.
No doubt it is. After all, Ferrari races in F1 to sell their beautiful cars.
