The battle for the 2008 world title between protagonists Felipe Massa and Bernie Ecclestone gets another go. On Wednesday, Ecclestone said Massa was only taking action because of "the money". One day later, on Thursday, the Brazilian has already responded again to the former F1 boss's statements. Massa claims that Ecclestone is afraid of what will come to the surface through the lawsuit.
Massa has now taken the first legal steps to win the 2008 title, including compensation. It all revolves around the first Singapore Grand Prix in 2008. Here, Nelson Piquet Jr. deliberately put his Renault into the wall, allowing teammate Fernando Alonso to win the race. The Brazilian claimed to have crashed deliberately in 2009, but Ecclestone indicated early this year that he already knew about the intentionality in 2008. Massa was not happy about that, and the Brazilian is now taking action.
Speaking to Motorsport.com, Massa responded to Ecclestone's recent statements, "Ecclestone only decided to say something after he saw the seriousness of our case and that we won't accept this stain on the sport. He's probably afraid of everything that will come out with the lawsuits. It doesn't matter. As we've said many times, our goal is the trophy. We continue our battle for justice in sport."
Typically speaking from experience.
It's the lawyers who initiate these things.
They stand to gain industry clout and money to further their careers.
It's the clients who lose.
My wife was talked into a suit like this once.
The lawyers made millions her and the defendents got to split like 300 each.
At this point its about the money. Massa has spent a crap load of money on these high powered lawyers and will continue to do so. Its going to end the same way as it did in Brazil. Tears
Now what is it? Money or the trophy?
I am sure the person who have the trophy will give it to you, as long as you don't take any of his numbers with
