Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz have received a new gearbox for the Miami Grand Prix. For Verstappen, it is already his third gearbox of the year, while Sainz is changing to his second.
Earlier, it was announced that Charles Leclerc and Nyck de Vries also received a new gearbox. For the AlphaTauri driver, it was an emergency change after he hit the wall on a spin during the first free practice session.
So Verstappen and Sainz have also received a new gearbox, but for neither of them it means a grid penalty. The drivers have a 'pool' of four gearboxes at their disposal during the season and only if that number is exceeded, a grid penalty is in the air.
