Sergio Perez, like teammate Max Verstappen, had a tough weekend last time out. He was on course for a podium finish after Verstappen's retirement, when Perez's RB18 also broke down on the final lap of the race.
Like Verstappen and the entire Red Bull Racing team, Perez will also want to put the opening weekend in Bahrain behind him quickly. He is therefore looking forward to getting back into the car in Saudi Arabia.
"Bahrain was difficult, I was one lap away from starting the season on the podium but I am confident in this team and we will work together to overcome it," Perez said in a press release. In the same vein as his teammate, he stresses that the season is still long.
Despite the double failure, it is clear to both Red Bull drivers that they have a strong package. "We have a quick car and I felt very competitive throughout the race. I am hoping to take that pace and utilise it from qualifying through to Sunday in Jeddah," concludes Perez, who hopes to "show the full potential of the car" in the second race of the year.
