According to Sergio Perez, the atmosphere within the Red Bull Racing team is much better than people on the outside think. After the incident in which Max Verstappen snatched the point from Perez's nose on the final lap, there were question marks between Perez and Verstappen's relationship. The Mexican put an end to all uncertainty.
"We have a lot more respect for each other than people might think," said the five-time Grand Prix winner in an interview with Motorsport.com. "Behind the scenes, there is a great atmosphere within the team. There is a lot of respect between both sides of the garage. I think we are both mature enough to know what is right and wrong. As long as that is the case, I don't expect any changes."
Perez is also going for the world title this year. The difference after the last Grand Prix is 15 points. Perez himself is confident: "Nobody is in as good a shape as Verstappen, there is no doubt about that. So combined with the team and with the car, he is definitely the hardest driver to beat. So I have to get the maximum out of myself to bring my highest level every weekend."
Whether Perez can actually take the fire from the Dutchman remains to be seen. At the end of April, the Mexican will get another chance in Baku to stay ahead of the Limburger.
Perez continues to see things from his point of view only
Truth spoken by Perez. Everything else is just a fib, created by sky f1. From Baku, im happy to announce that ill be watching f1 on f1tv pro. goodbye kravitz and croft. sky made a huge mistake by letting go of brundle. There are already many complaints by Brits against sky f1 for letting kravitz and crofty promote the anti-max propaganda.
If they choose to continue down this path....yet another boycott shall follow I have a feeling that the next boycott will not be limited to just 1 race...
@Brett. Its just Redbull PR lines . What's important is the lines "I think we are both mature enough to know what is right and wrong. As long as that is the case, I don't expect ....." Pérez slipped that in there deliberately I am sure. But yes that statement was expected.
Why can't you just be satisfied with what Sergio states as being the case? Always pushing the negative. Time to heal Vegan, time to heal.
"Always pushing the negative." ??????? That right there has got to be the best comment I've ever seen oh here ESPECIALLY coming from YOU. ?? Pot and kettle springs to mind. Time to heal f1isback, time to heal.
Carefully vegan. You play again on the boundary of getting another post deleted. But it seems your a regular. Of breaking guidelines.
Thanks SF not sure how I managed for so long on the blog without your wise guidance.
How to get in the head of a troll. Easy just tell her the truth.
Don't you mean that Sky let go of Johnny Herbert and Di Resta? Brundle has been working all season.
Brundle is also absent but that is because of his health. He is not a live commentator on Sky F1 anymore. Herbert and Di Resta are also good. Resta gave so much expertise knowledge. He was the one who showed how Lewis missed the apex in silverstone 21 and crashed into Max. Maybe thats why they let go off him. He was always unbiased, educative and technically sound. I already switched to F1 tv pro :)
Sergio is not ahead of Max _ he can hardly " stay ahead of " him.
