McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo loves a party and he also loves the United States. The Australian therefore cannot wait for the upcoming Grand Prix in Miami. The fact that it is a new circuit makes him even more enthusiastic.
Visiting American TV show The Daily Show, Ricciardo looks ahead to the next F1 weekend and the still unfamiliar track: "It's a challenge. There are circuits that I can drive completely in my head and visualize within a second." It will take some getting used to for all drivers in Miami, so maintaining concentration will be important: "I don't want to say it's difficult, but in a big city - most circuits are in the middle of nowhere, because you just need a lot of space - In Miami we drive around the Hard Rock stadium and it will be crazy."
Ricciardo was already in the simulator on Tuesday to get a feel for the track layout. It is only during practice that he expects to learn the most about the track. The Australian does find it always an interesting moment on a new track: "It gives you the opportunity to possibly find something faster than the rest. As a result, the gaps between us may be bigger."
