The next Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend will be held in Singapore. The circuit in Singapore is physically one of the toughest races of the season because of the heat and high humidity. George Russell sees the many challenges the Marina Bay Street Circuit has to offer as an opportunity to outperform the rest of the field.
The street circuit in Singapore has many slow corners, resulting in a low average speed. This makes the race in the city-state one of the longest Grands Prix of the season. "Singapore is a really unique circuit. The most number of corners I think on the race track, maybe bar Saudi [Arabia]. So hot, so humid there. It is a real challenge for the drivers and for the cars," said the Briton on the Singapore Grand Prix Instagram account.
The 25-year-old driver sees the challenges in the city-state as an opportunity for his team Mercedes to stand out. The German constructor has not been competitive enough for victories this season. "The race is the longest one on of the season so, it adds a lot of these challenges which ultimately gives us an opportunity to perform better than the rest."
