Haas will continue with Kevin Magnussen next season, but it remains to be seen which driver will sit next to him. While Mick Schumacher is still part of the team this season, Guenther Steiner is not ruling out anything for 2023. He told Sky Sports.
Since Daniel Ricciardo came out with the news from McLaren this week that he is leaving the British formation after the season, an option has become available for Haas. The Australian seems to have enough knowledge and skills to be successful at the American formation.
Steiner also knows that Ricciardo has the necessary qualities. However, the team boss does not want to look ahead to next season and wants to focus mainly on the performance in the current racing year. He believes that the rumours are going in many directions.
"We are going to wait. If I were to follow the rumours, we would have to open a second team, because we have contracted everyone," Steiner said. "I don't know who will drive for us. We will wait. First of all, it has to calm down."
"Mick did some good races before the summer break in Silverstone, Canada and Austria. We are not in a hurry. There are more drivers than seats so there will be something left for us."
