Toto Wolff must have imagined the summer holidays differently. The Mercedes team boss broke his elbow in a mountain-biking accident. The Austrian's left arm is now fully in plaster. His wife Susie reveals this via Instagram.

A picture on Susie Wolff's account shows Toto walking around with an arm in a blue cast. "Action packed start to the summer holidays. Last picture shows how the downhill mountain biking ended for Toto," wrote Susie, herself being responsible for F1 Academy.

I heard Toto blamed porpoising as the cause. Bounced him straight over the handlebars. Glad he's ok.

Whilst many accidents are "off road" there are many others that involve vehicle versus bicycle. I had a lawyer tell me that there was no way I could be traveling 48km/h when his client pulled out in front of me. Me Garmin data proved otherwise. His client paid the bills. "In 2020, 141 pedal cyclists were killed in Great Britain, whilst 4,215 were reported to be seriously injured (adjusted) and 11,938 slightly injured (adjusted)." Over the past few years, there seems to be more F1 drivers and personnel's who gets hurt in biking accidents than F1 car incidences.
