Max Verstappen finished the test in Bahrain as he started it, with the fastest time of the day. The 1:28.960 he drove at the end of the Sunday evening session was also the fastest time of the weekend. The fact that Yuki Tsunoda, also with the Honda engine, was close behind is a good sign for next season.
"We just drove our programme and I do have a positive feeling in the car," Verstappen told Verstappen.com.
"The car is a bit more predictable and that's nice. We haven't had any problems and we leave here without any big question marks. The balance of the car was fine. In a race weekend the weather can be different and you don't know what the other teams are doing in terms of fuel, but at least the feeling was positive."
Red Bull seem to be more competitive already compared to recent years after Mercedes' underwhelming weekend.
