Max Verstappen impressed during an online race. The Dutchman was in action in the BMW Sim GT Cup and made up 42 places during his hour-long stint.
It is clear that Verstappen enjoys racing. In addition to Formula 1, the Red Bull Racing driver also uses the simulator in his spare time. This weekend he participated in the two-hour race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on behalf of Team Redline. The livery was white-orange.
The reigning world champion formed a unique duo with Alex Palou. The Spaniard was the winner of the IndyCar championship in 2021. The two had a tough race, as they had to start from 50th on the grid, which was the second-to-last position. However, that was no problem for Verstappen.
The Dutchman raced the first hour of the BMW Sim GT Cup and showed that he can also race a little in the virtual world. From P50, he moved up to eighth place. Halfway through the race, his Spanish teammate took over and drove the car to a seventh-place finish. Maximilian Benecke and Patrick Holzmann took victory on behalf of Team Redline Red.
thats what like 2 passes per lap assuming they're around 2 minute lap times
Why did they have to start 2nd from last? Was qualifications that bad. I have won many a SIM race even conquered a few rally ones. And finished top of the board. Does that make me an expert in virtual racing as well? Am sure SIM racing like the real world in all sports will have many not worth a penny. From what am reading it seems 42 were not good at racing if the other driver could only pass one. Shows that max passed Latifi, Schumacher junior and the rest of also ran.
Max and Alex only.participated for fun. Max's practice session was top of the board, but he and Alex intentionally screwed up quali (track limits) so they wouldn't get in the way of their Redline teammates who were in it for real.
Simply Lovely there Max. He is loved so much that people make comparisons to there grandchildren.
Max spends 100 hours racing a week as other driver pursue other purpose activities and goals. If he enjoys it, fantastic. But how much of his talent is natural if he spends more time on sim and online racing than all drivers on the grid combined.
I agree with Adrie. Moreover, what's your point? What do you even mean by natural talent? What's inborn? If that's the case then who even cares? If sims improve your capacity to race in real life then why don't the other drivers spend time in the simulator? What's stopping them?
Max just continues to impress "wow" thats the computer game right ?
Max has got a Rocket in the computer game right ? You want to say yes!!
