Ferrari have started the season very successfully so far. The Italian team not only impressed during the test days in Barcelona and Bahrain, but also managed to secure the first and third positions on the starting grid during the Bahrain Grand Prix. Jacques Villeneuve warns the team, however.

The former Formula 1 driver is impressed with what he has seen from the Italians so far. Ferrari look very stable with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz and even appeared strong enough to beat Red Bull Racing in qualifying in Bahrain on Saturday afternoon.

The Austrian team worked hard to set the fastest time, but Max Verstappen was a tenth short of Leclerc's time. Sergio Perez in turn failed to knock Sainz off third place, leaving the Mexican to start the race in fourth position.

Villeneuve warns of Ferrari danger

Ferrari therefore appear to be in contention for the world title this season, although Villeneuve is cautious. "The car is strong, it is easy to drive and it is easy to find the right set-up," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But then there is the risk of the team falling asleep. If you do well, you don't go looking for the problems."
