The first two free practice sessions have been held so it is time to look ahead to tomorrow. Then the last free practice and qualifying are on the programme.
During the first free practice session
Max Verstappen was the fastest driver on the track, although the margins were very small. Still, this will give the Dutchman confidence for the rest of the weekend. During the second free practice the Mercedes of
Valtteri Bottas and the returning
Lewis Hamilton were really too fast again. The gap with Bottas was no less than seven tenths. Verstappen said himself that there will still be a lot of work to do.
Disrupted
However, the second free practice session was a little disturbed by testing Pirelli's new tires at the beginning of the session. The red flag was also waved after the engine of
Kimi Raikkonen's Alfa Romeo went up in flames.
The third free practice session starts at 11:00am tomorrow morning. After a two hour break, qualifying will start at 2:00pm, an hour earlier than you might be used to. Don't want to miss anything from FP3 and qualifying? Then make sure you follow the live blog of GPblog!
