Jenson Button reckons Mercedes could take the victory at the
United States Grand Prix after Qualifying, especially
Lewis Hamilton.
Despite only qualifying fifth and sixth, the Mercedes cars of
Lewis Hamilton and
George Russell will be starting the
United States Grand Prix from third and fourth due to the grid-penalties of
Charles Leclerc and
Sergio Perez. Speaking to
Sky, Jenson Button reckons they could have a chance for victory.
"For me, I know how good he [Hamilton] is around this track. They don't have the straight line speed so more difficult for them. But they are consistent through the race with the Mercedes car, and Hamilton in the driving seat. I do think they have a chance, especially with a high deg race," Button claims.
"I think Mercedes chances are great. Their race car is always better than their qualifying car."
To Button's credit, he is correct on that front, which could lead to a very interesting race.
