Young Mercedes ace George Russell has had a season to remember in 2022, but the seemingly out of reach goal of winning a race appears to be on the Brit's mind.
Although George Russell has scored seven podium finishes in the 2022 season and is beating seven-time champion teammate Lewis Hamilton, there is a sense of a deeper frustration within the young Mercedes driver of wanting more.
When Sky asked on his feelings towards beating Hamilton, the Brit replied; "If you asked me that at the start of the season, I'd have said it means everything because if you beat Hamilton it probably means you're world champion. I want to finish ahead of him, but I am here to win races, pole positions and championships."
Despite having a strong and consistent season, the past two races have been disasterous for the Brit, which can only drive his hunger further.
"I want to get back on the podium, it feels like an age since we were in the top five. Singapore and Japan were terrible. I want to get back into that groove. But truly fighting for race wins is the goal."
