After
Max Verstappen's victory, the Dutchman has taken over the lead in the World Championship from
Lewis Hamilton. But this is far from the only change after the
Monaco Grand Prix.
Shifts in the drivers
Hamilton had a reasonable lead at the start of the weekend in Monaco, but none is left. In fact, Verstappen is currently four points ahead of the Brit in the battle for the World Championship title. The retirement of
Valtteri Bottas has brought
Lando Norris back into the top three.
Behind him,
Sergio Perez is finally in the top five, after a fine fourth position on the streets of the Principality. The Mexican is followed by the two
Ferrari drivers.
Carlos Sainz scored some good points with a second-place, but can't quite get past
Charles Leclerc. It was also a positive day for
Sebastian Vettel and
Antonio Giovinazzi. Both drivers scored their first points of the season. Red Bull also take the lead in the constructors' championship by one point.
