Daniel Ticktum long dreamed of an opportunity in
Formula 1, but unfortunately for the Brit it did not come. After two full seasons in
Formula 2, in which he managed to win three times, he made the switch to
Formula E. In the electric class, he is, according to himself, the most talented driver.
No chance in Formula 1
Ticktum was always considered a talent who might make it into
Formula 1.
Red Bull Racing advisor
Helmut Marko also noticed this, which is why Ticktum drove for the Red Bull Junior Team from the beginning of 2017 until the middle of 2019. Not much later, the Briton was picked up by
Williams, where he became a development driver. He was part of the British formation from December 2019 to August 2021.
Formula E as a solution
In 2022, Ticktum began a new adventure in
Formula E with rearguard team NIO 333. Although no points have been scored yet and Ticktum therefore occupies the 21st position in the rankings, the Briton thinks he is the most talented driver in the Formula E field. He let this be known in an interview with
MotionE.org.
Ticktum says his competitors on the track are all great, but no one is faster than he is. "I don’t believe there’s anyone who’s actually, in Formula E, more talented than me," Ticktum says. The Briton will now work to get NIO 333 further forward on the grid and hopes to be among the top three drivers next year.
