It had been in the air for a while: Robin Frijns is returning to Envision Racing after just one year. The Dutchman was already driving for Envision between 2018 and 2022, but decided to switch to ABT Cupra in the 2022/2023 season. So that switch was short-lived.

Frijns back at Envision

Frijns replaces Nick Cassidy at the British racing team, the latter leaving for Jaguar's Formula E team. The Dutchman's return to his old team is understandable, as Frijns could often be found in the back of the field with his current team ABT Cupra. The highlight of Frijns' time with the German team was his pole position in Berlin. Eventually, the Formula E driver finished 23rd in the championship.

During Frijns' first stint with Envision, the Dutchman was actually often at the front of the field. The hope is that this will be the case again next season. "It definitely feels like coming home. I am jioning the world champions now last and next season I will be driving with the aim of winning another championship," Frijns said at X. Envision Racing became world champion last season among constructors and second among drivers with the departing Cassidy.
