Another lap, another race dominated by Max Verstappen. The Dutchman now has six victories this year and 41 in his career: he has caught up with Ayrton Senna. There is something to smile about for the Italian fans, however: Ferrari did not underperform. Leclerc and Sainz were close to the podium places, recovering six positions. Let's find out how the Italian media reacted to the Canadian Grand Prix.

Gazzetta dello Sport

"Ferrari find their smile again" reads the headline of the Gazzetta dello Sport, praising the good work done by the Scuderia in Maranello. "In short, what was learned in Spain and the changes made have given speed to the SF-23, which was able to manage tyres in the race much better, both the medium and hards". They already look to the future: "Definitely a step forward that will obviously now have to be confirmed in the next races, starting with Austria in a fortnight's time."

The judgement of Max Verstappen's race is also very clear: 'The Dutchman is racing in a private dimension."

Autosprint

While Autosprint calls Verstappen the "King of Montreal", here too we find a positive opinion of Ferrari: "It was a glass-half-full race for Ferrari in Canada. That is to say, the best overall result of the season, which shows the validity of the updates introduced."

Sky Sports F1 (Italian branch)

Like every Monday, it is Turrini's ratings are on their website. Between an unusual (but not too much) score of 41 for Verstappen ('to signal that he has joined Senna among the multi-winners') and a 0 for Stroll ('This one is in F1 combing dolls'), the journalist grants praise to the Ferrari drivers. Both Leclerc and Sainz are deserving of a 7.5 ('Finally a Sunday without trouble. But a pity about Saturday').

Finally, the 8 in the ratings goes to Albon ('One of the protagonists of the Canadian weekend'), the 5 for Zhou ('Missing') and the 5.5 for Piastri ('As sung by Tozzi, Morandi and Ruggeri you can give more') should be highlighted.

Corriere della Sera

We also find Turrini in the Corriere della Sera, in which he dedicates a long article to Verstappen and his victory number 41, with which he joins Ayrton Senna. The journalist plunges into the arduous task of comparing the two characters, finding a few points in common: "Competitive ferocity, that voracity that does not include leftovers, gestures of charity, weaknesses. What comes from mental strength is equivalent to speed skills. No prisoner, like only a few legends of F1, have an attitude that marked Michael Schumacher's magnificent journey". Nevertheless, some differences remain: "If instead we talk about characters, ways of saying and doing, we have two different men, marked, in different ways, by the decisive relationship with their respective fathers".
