The first two free practice sessions before the race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit didn't produce good results for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Therefore, there's a lot of expectation that this could be the weekend when Red Bull lose their winning streak. We will find out more in the third practice session, which will start shortly. F1 LIVE | FP3: Singapore Grand Prix

Over one lap, Ferrari reign supreme in Singapore for now. In FP1 and FP2, the Ferrari cars topped the timesheet. In the main session, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were two-tenths faster than their nearest rival: George Russell. The Brit was one of the last to set a fast time, driving his time in the most favourable conditions. Lewis Hamilton was four-tenths down, Fernando Alonso was just under four-tenths shy. Alonso has to do it alone, though. Teammate Lance Stroll was found in 14th place. The same goes for Lando Norris in P6. He was six-tenths behind. The Red Bulls were as far back as P7 and P8.

Perez is the fastest of the two Red Bulls but is just under seven-tenths short of Sainz's fastest time. Verstappen is slightly slower than Perez and is just over seven-tenths short of the fastest time. It is a gap you don't just close overnight; if anyone can, Red Bull can. We will find out during this FP3 session whether they have changed the set-up to improve performance.

Marina Bay track changes

This track is well known for requiring maximum downforce setups as well as a very good mechanical balance because of the bumpy nature of the asphalt (being a street circuit, in fact, most of the track is used every day as a normal street) and the extreme hot temperatures, which are killer for the tyres. However, this year the teams will have to tackle two main changes: a new final sector (which now has a 400-meter straight instead of a couple of twisty chicanes) and a new technical directive, the TD018, which could affect the battle for the P2 in the championship.
