Formula 1 returns to
France for the next part of the European stint after dashing across to
Canada. After a couple of weeks dominated by
Sebastian Vettel's controversial penalty, will
Ferrari be able to lay down the first marker of the weekend? Or will
Mercedes continue to top the timesheets? The liveblog is running underneath!
Vettel's penalty
Some new news surrounding this will likely come out on Friday afternoon as
Ferrari will present their new evidence at 2:15 pm. Whatever you make of it, more or less everyone has had a say on it and it'll probably be good for the sport to put it to bed. Who knows what will come of it, but Vettel has since become a married man and will get inside the cockpit for the first time since the event!
The Midfield
Renault is the team to watch this weekend. Not only is it their home race, but their performance in Canada surprised many. They managed to close the gap on McLaren to just two points with a P6 and P7 finish. After a troubled start to the 2019 Formula 1 season, all eyes will be on them to see if they can repeat their feat. A lot of upgrades in the midfield arrive this weekend though not all new parts will be fitted for the Friday sessions.
