After Thursday practice, we're now back on schedule! The teams and drivers have one last chance to tweak their setups before the
Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. So far,
Mercedes is ahead, but will
Ferrari close the gap, or will it be
Max Verstappen ruling himself as the main candidate to topple the Mercedes streak?
What's happened so far?
Well, that awkward gap on a Friday has passed. On Thursday,
Lewis Hamilton finished top of the timesheets twice. Verstappen pushed
Valtteri Bottas down to P3 in the first session, but the Finn was only narrowly defeated in FP2. The battle between Bottas and Hamilton looks close this weekend. Meanwhile,
Ferrari looked off the pace.
Sebastian Vettel looked more competitive in FP2, but only until the Silver Arrows slipped their soft tyres on. And
Charles Leclerc finished way down in P10.
The rest of the field looks just as tight as Bottas and Hamilton.
Alex Albon had a really good Thursday, he could be one to watch later on this afternoon. Both
Alfa Romeo drivers look quick, as does
Haas. It was the usual Renault, Racing Point and Williams filling up the bottom of the table.
