Sergio Perez must make way for
Sebastian Vettel at
Racing Point at the end of 2020. Despite a previously signed contract for a seat with
Racing Point for 2021, the Mexican looks like he is now on his way to Haas.
Rumour had been circulating for some time that Vettel would become the new driver of Aston Martin and in the end that was the news. A clause in Perez's contract allowed the Mexican to be expelled to make way for the four-time world champion.
Perez in, Grosjean and Magnussen out at Haas?
Where the seat next to
Max Verstappen at
Red Bull Racing still isn't filled yet, the most realistic option seems to be to switch to Haas. According to
Motorsport.it the Mexican had doubts about his future in the sport, but according to the latest rumours from the paddock, Perez would still like to stay in F1.
According to the Italian medium, the option is Günther Steiner's race stable: Haas. There one would look at all the options and it could be that
Kevin Magnussen and
Romain Grosjean both leave the team. Perez is on the radar, but also
Nico Hulkenberg, Robert Shwartzman and Callum Ilott are options for the American stable. However, Perez seems to be the main candidate now, but it is still unclear whether the current line-up of the team will be completely overhauled.
