Bottas is grateful to Mercedes: "I really felt proud"
- GPblog.com
Valtteri Bottas said goodbye to Mercedes this week. The Finnish driver will be driving for Alfa Romeo that has big plans for the coming years with Guanyu Zhou and Bottas. The farewell caused a special moment for Bottas.
Bottas had the difficult task of thanking his team for the past few years on Friday afternoon. In a video on Twitter, he clearly showed his gratitude towards the German racing stable. "It's been emotional, It's been nice to see all the people. I really felt proud," Bottas said.
The Finn could count on a lot of criticism because of his performance in recent years. Where Hamilton dominated on the circuits, Bottas often lagged behind. Despite this, he also saw himself winning several GPs. "Not the winning one, but some other trophies. Thank you for all the support this five years."
For one last time, take it away VB.

Russell succeeds Bottas at Mercedes
Mercedes found the successor to Bottas in George Russell. The talented Englishman will have the tough challenge of making things difficult for Hamilton next season. This season Russell showed his great qualities in his Williams car. In 2022 we will see if Russell can also surprise with his new team.
