Horner sees fighting Mercedes: "They are struggling"

Mercedes experienced a difficult season start during the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. The German racing team is still struggling to keep up with the competition and must therefore be careful not to lose touch with the top teams. Christian Horner is nevertheless convinced that Mercedes will still be in the title fight.
It took some getting used to for Red Bull in the opening race. No longer was Mercedes the team around which everything revolved, in Bahrain it was suddenly Ferrari that posed a threat. The Italian racing team has had a number of difficult seasons, but seems fully prepared to fight with Red Bull for the world title.
Horner focuses on Red Bull
Mercedes are hoping to join the two teams soon, but for the time being is not getting it together to reach the same level as the top two. Earlier this week, advisor Helmut Marko revealed that he has no pity for Mercedes. Christian Horner expects the team to bounce back, according to a conversation the team boss had with Express.
"They are struggling," Horner stated about Mercedes. Nevertheless, he does not think the formation will be back in the subtop for the entire season. "I have no doubt that at some point, Mercedes will join that battle but my focus is very much on our team."
