Norris sees improvements at McLaren: 'Small steps'

McLaren seemed to be one of the contenders for the world title prior to the season, but during the opening race in Bahrain it became clear that the team still has a long way to go. Lando Norris, however, has full confidence in his team.
In Bahrain, eyes were not only on Ferrari and Red Bull Racing, McLaren also seemed to be able to mean something in the fight at the front. However, the opposite was true, as both Norris and Daniel Ricciardo failed to finish in the points. With a fourteenth and fifteenth final position, both drivers left disappointed.
Norris has faith in team
In Saudi Arabia, McLaren did a lot better. The team did not play a significant role in the top five, but with a seventh place for Norris the team could be satisfied. This coming weekend, the driver hopes to make a new step in Australia. Norris is confident that this will succeed, although he is keeping a wary eye on the situation for the time being.
"The race in Jeddah showed the small steps we’ve made but we’ve still got a long way to go," Norris stressed in McLaren's preview. "The points were a nice reward for the team’s hard work."
