A few hundred dollars for your own 'shoey' from Ricciardo
- GPblog.com
What Formula One fan doesn't know it? Daniel Ricciardo's shoey after a podium finish, drinking the champagne from his shoe. Often the other drivers on the podium can't escape it either. The Australian driver has now made sure that you can also do your own shoey, although you have to dig deep for it.
Ricciardo's shoey is now here for everyone
After his win at the 2016 German Grand Prix, the McLaren driver introduced his shoey, and it quickly became a trademark for the good-humored driver. Other drivers and team bosses also had to wear it frequently. Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Christian Horner, Lando Norris and Zak Brown, among others, were given a sip of champagne from his shoe.
Last year Ricciardo already released his own wine in collaboration with St Hugo Wines and now a second series has been released. This DR3 wine can now be ordered with a special carafe in the shape of his shoe. So everyone can do their own shoey at home too. Well, everyone, the decanter costs $700 and comes in a limited edition. The carafe comes with a numbered trophy case, a certificate of authenticity and a letter from Daniel Ricciardo. Of course, the Australian presented the decanter in a comical video.
