Charles Leclerc is busy preparing with Ferrari for the upcoming Grands Prix in Miami and Barcelona. Next on the program is the Monaco GP, which has had a lot of criticism in recent years. However, the leader of the world championship hopes that the race remains, he stressed in conversation with Speedweek.com.

For Leclerc, the historic GP in Monaco is extra special as it is a home race for him. The driver knows the circuit like the back of his hand and has enjoyed the race weekend every year since his arrival in Formula 1. He therefore believes that the FIA should choose to protect the Monaco GP.

According to the driver, the GP would not only belong to Formula 1, it also still provides a special weekend for the drivers. "It would be a pity and wrong not to have a Monaco Grand Prix anymore," he said.

Ricciardo has the same opinion as Leclerc

Leclerc is not the only driver who hopes that Monaco remains on the racing calendar. Daniel Ricciardo also showed that he is very fond of the circuit. They both have a clear advice to the FIA to keep the Monaco GP. However, due to the growing interest of circuits, it remains to be seen what the organization will decide in the future.
