Ecclestone shrugs: 'There's a lot of stupid stuff coming out of America'

Bernie Ecclestone has been gone from the F1 stage for several years now. Yet the now 91-year-old former boss of Formula 1 still manages to keep himself in the news.
Not enthusiastic
Ecclestone sold Formula 1 to Liberty Media, an American company that runs Formula 1 in an American way. For example, there is more focus on entertainment and a good supporting program. Moreover, Liberty Media is exploring new markets, such as the home country. The new race in Miami is a good example.
Many people are excited about the way Liberty has transformed Formula 1. But Ecclestone isn't. He is annoyed, and tells Bloomberg news agency it is governed with an American hand. "They are producing 'Formula 1: The American Style.' It could be good, because a lot of stupid things come out of America and everyone is happy, but that was not the way I ran things," the former boss said.
Wanting to be there
At Liberty Media, shrugged off Ecclestone's statements. Greg Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media said, "Bernie can think what he wants. But the reality is that everyone wants to be there now."
