Ferrari can't suppress disappointment: 'Bittersweet taste in mouth'
- GPblog.com
The disappointment was great at Ferrari in Monaco last weekend. The Italians started the race on Sunday from the first two positions, but in the end could not prevent Sergio Perez from running away with the victory. Inaki Rueda nevertheless remains positive for the coming months.
The formation had an excellent start to the season, but now seems to be behind the times. Although Ferrari proved in Monaco during free practice and qualifying that it was a lot faster than the competition over a lap, Red Bull Racing again made a stronger impression in the race.
Confidence at Ferrari remains
For Rueda, however, that is not yet a reason to despair. The Head of Race Strategy of the Italian racing stable states in the debrief of Ferrari that he thinks it is first important to find out where things went wrong and learn from this for the rest of the season in order to give the championship battle with Red Bull a good follow-up.
"We come away with a bittersweet taste in our mouth. We did some very good things, we did other things we’re not so proud of," stated Rueda, who remains confident in the racing stable. "We make sure we come back stronger from this experience."
