Bottas has no regrets about Mercedes departure: 'Can drive as I want'

Valtteri Bottas has had a successful switch to Alfa Romeo. Whereas he seemed to be taking a step backwards with his departure from Mercedes, this season he is able to compete with his former racing stable for the time being. The Finn is therefore looking forward to the coming months with a great deal of confidence, as he let it be known at Speedweek.com.
"We can be satisfied with our first part of the season," assessed Bottas, who thanked his team for the opening phase of the racing year. "I have my role and can drive as I want. The atmosphere at Alfa Romeo stimulates me, because I see people who give everything. That's really an inspiration."
Alfa Romeo is therefore performing above expectations, but if it were up to Bottas, the formation is far from reaching its ceiling. The experienced driver, together with Guanyu Zhou, wants to get more out of his car and is confident that Alfa Romeo can slowly grow towards the top of the midfield.
Bottas beats Zhou at Alfa Romeo for the time being
For the time being, however, Bottas is doing much better than Zhou. After six Grands Prix, the Chinese driver still only has one point, while Bottas already has forty points. The former teammate of Lewis Hamilton is almost single-handedly responsible for Alfa Romeo's fifth place in the Constructors' Championship.
