There are many rumors that Nyck de Vries will get a seat in Formula 1 next year. For now, the Dutchman will only continue to focus fully on his current racing class, namely Formula E.

Nicholas Latifi's position is under considerable pressure at the Williams team. The Canadian has currently not scored a point yet this season and also fails to leave a strong impression, unlike his new teammate Alexander Albon. As a result, Latifi is expected to be replaced in 2023.

The biggest contender for the possibly empty seat at Williams is Nyck de Vries. The 27-year-old driver was also allowed to participate in a free practice session for the team. In conversation with Eurosport the Dutchman let it be known that he is not yet focused on Formula 1.

"Of course there are many rumours and people like to talk about it, but I live in the present. We are currently in Jakarta and we still have eight races to go to make sure the championship comes our way," says De Vries.

Defending the title in Formula E

Nyck de Vries is currently still active in Formula E, where he drives for the team of Mercedes. Last year, the Dutchman managed to win the racing class, but this year things are going a little less smoothly. De Vries is currently sixth in the standings with 65 points. Teammate Stoffel Vandoorne leads with 111 points, but feels the hot breath of Edoardo Mortara and Jean-Eric Vergne on his neck.
