Leclerc gets support in battle with Verstappen: 'He is strong'

Willi Weber is confident that Charles Leclerc will fight his way back into the Formula One world championship. The former manager of Michael Schumacher, among others, sees many qualities in the Monegasque, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I know Leclerc from my Formula 3 days and he is strong," he told the medium. "It is difficult to win this year, because in my opinion there are more chances in 2023. However, there are still many races to go and the gap to Verstappen can be made up. The most important thing is that Ferrari has a car that is stable and reliable in performance. My heart is with Ferrari, I always keep my fingers crossed for them."
Weber enjoys Hamilton and Alonso
Weber remembers his collaboration with Schumacher like it was yesterday. He witnessed how the driver won consecutive world championships and eventually won seven world titles. He still holds the record, together with Lewis Hamilton.
According to Weber, there are more greats in Formula 1 besides Schumacher. In the interview, he is tempted to pick out two drivers. "After Michael I would name two names: Hamilton and Fernando Alonso", he states.
