Mick Schumacher's season has been one of criticism for his performance, yet the German thinks he is ready for the next step: driving for Ferrari, just like his father Michael did for years.

Since 2019, Schumacher has been linked to Ferrari, but experience he is now gaining at Haas. "Yes, yes and yes. I'm ready (to race for Ferrari)," he said according to AS. "Although our cars are not the same. I have grown up with Ferrari since 2019 and know the procedures. I'm happy to show what I'm capable of."

As good as your last race

Over the last few races, Schumacher has had some nice form and even scored his first points. In that, he sees the proof that he is getting better and better. "You are as good as your last race. We can't take a step back. The goal is to improve and be faster."

In principle, no seat will be available at Ferrari in the coming years. It is also not yet certain that Schumacher will stay with Haas. The American team has not (yet) extended his contract for 2023.

My belief is Mick was half-drunk when he said what he said.

Schumacher will never drive a top car. He is not a patch on his dad. And with the current driver's I wouldn't put him in the top 15 in the grid. My opinion so it's neither right or wrong.

Everybody would be ready for Ferrari, after losing to Magnussen.

He can hardly even keep pace with Magnussen, so if he was LeClerc’s team mate the performance gap will likely be larger than the gap between Lando and Daniel or between Bottas and Zhou.
