'Audi announces early entry into Formula One'
- GPblog.com
There is a good chance that Audi will announce on Friday that it will enter Formula 1 in 2026. That is what De Telegraaf-journalist Erik van Haren says on his Twitter page. A cooperation with Sauber seems to be a possibility, but that news is expected to take longer.
The new engine regulations that will apply from 2026 will make it a lot more interesting for engine suppliers to opt for Formula 1. For Audi, which is part of the Volkswagen Group, it meant that it became interested in a switch. That seems to be the case on Friday.
For weeks now there have been persistent rumours that the car company will cooperate with Sauber, which will be known as Alfa Romeo this season. It is said that Audi wants to take over three quarters of the company, which would give them a large share in Sauber.
Audi maakt snel, vermoedelijk morgen al, bekend dat het de Formule 1 instapt vanaf 2026. Waarschijnlijk dan nog niet de mededeling dat het gaat om meerderheidsaandeel Sauber. #F1

Red Bull and Porsche talk to each other
Porsche again seems to choose for Red Bull Racing. Both parties have been talking behind the scenes about their future in the motorsport class. Helmut Marko recently announced that there is no question of a final agreement, so he is keeping the situation in the middle for the time being.
