Daniel Ricciardo can focus on finding a new team in Formula 1 for next year, in addition to driving nine Grands Prix in the second half of the season. Helmut Marko has already commented on a possible comeback for Ricciardo within the Red Bull Racing family.

Ricciardo and Red Bull

According to the Austrian team's advisor, Ricciardo's return to Red Bull in 2023 is out of the question. Sergio Perez is under contract through to 2024 and although there is still a place available at AlphaTauri (Yuki Tsundoa's contract has not yet been renewed), there is no chance of Ricciardo returning.

Marko says to Die Kleine Zeitung Marko: "Our contracts run until 2024, nothing changes. And Daniel certainly doesn't want to go to a team like AlphaTauri. Besides, he's not a junior anymore." Ricciardo's chances seem to lie mainly with Alpine and Haas F1. Oscar Piastri turned down a seat at the French team and Mick Schumacher seems all but certain of a new commitment at Gene Haas.

Ricciardo raced for Red Bull through 2018 and experienced his greatest successes in Formula 1 here. He stood on the top step of the podium for the Austrian racing team seven times. In 2019, he moved to the then Renault where he defended the yellow colours for two years, before switching to McLaren in 2021. That marriage ultimately proved to be on the rocks.
