Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are not the best of friends, but Toto Wolff does not see eye to eye with the Alpine driver either. After the Belgian Grand Prix, the Mercedes team boss reacted somewhat irritated by Alonso's choice of words just after the collision with Hamilton at Spa-Francorchamps.

Alonso said on the board radio that Hamilton only knows how to start and drive at the front in Formula 1. According to the two-time world champion it is clear that the British driver has a hard time as soon as he hits traffic. In the Ardennes this resulted in a heavy collision.

Wolff reacted afterwards to AS on Alonso. "It is true that he has started from the front many times and has won seven world championships, so it seems that the strategy is working," snarled the Austrian chief. Yet a little later Wolff has to admit that Hamilton is the only one to blame. "Lewis didn't give him any space, Fernando couldn't do much more".

Wolff vs. Alonso

It is not the first time this year that Wolff and Alonso have clashed. After the Monaco Grand Prix Wolff accused the 41-year old Spaniard of deliberately holding up Hamilton. Alonso drove some five seconds slower than the rest of the field to save his tyres. Wolff accused the Alpine driver of a 'Formula 2 driving style'.
