Charles Leclerc failed to take victory at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Monegasque did not manage to get past Sergio Perez and had to settle for a second finishing spot. Afterwards, he was reasonably satisfied with his performance.
For the driver, it was especially important to grab a podium spot and thus make up some points on Max Verstappen. As a result, his rival did not yet manage to secure his world title. However, due to the conditions, Leclerc was particularly struggling to keep his car on track.
"I gave everything the whole race," Leclerc explained. "The bad start put us on the back foot. it cost us the race after that. I had a bit of wheelspin and no performance there. Difficult. A good night sleep and we'll get ready for Japan"
Ferrari makes up points on Red Bull
His teammate Carlos Sainz also finished on the podium. Where Perez took victory, the Spaniard managed to secure third place. With that, Ferrari is making up some much-needed points on Red Bull in the constructors' championship.
