GP at Spa-Francorchamps still popular: 'Half all tickets sold'
- GPblog.com
It was questionable during the summer of 2022 whether the Belgian Grand Prix at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit would be on the calendar in 2023. The race has since been confirmed and ticket sales are already going strong.
Ticket sales Belgium GP going fast
With the growth of the F1 calendar and Liberty Media's focus on hosting GP's in the United States and the Middle East, some European GP's came into question. The GP of France did not survive the balloting for 2023, but the iconic Belgian GP and the Monaco GP were also in question. That the latter two will be on the calendar next year is good news for most F1 fans. Especially for the organisers of the Belgian Grand Prix.
The circuit invested many millions in recent years to give Spa a facelift, so it is a relief that Formula 1 will continue to run there. Despite the traffic problems that were very high in 2021 and still present in 2022, the last edition was a successful event. This is also evidenced by the fact that F1 fans are not staying away from Max Verstappen's favourite circuit. A spokesperson for the GP organisation reported to GPBlog that half of the tickets for the 30 July 2023 GP weekend have now been sold.
