Formula 1 drivers will face as many as 24 races on the calendar next season. Although it caused a lot of resistance from the teams, Stefano Domenicali is convinced that the organisation has made the right decision for the future of the sport. He told Motorsport-Magazin.com.

The Formula 1 boss is aware that the calendar of the motorsport class has become a lot fuller with the addition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, among others. However, Domenicali does not expect the number to increase in the coming years.

"24 races provide the right balance between demand and quality. If the number of Grands Prix causes problems, I would reduce it immediately," Domenicali promises. "We are trying to create a balance. A third of the races should be in Europe, another part in America and the Middle East and the last part in the Far East."

F1 has three races in America

In doing so, Domenicali admits that the financial side for Formula 1 is very important when making choices. Thus, in 2023, the teams will travel to the United States no less than three times to finish a race. Besides Las Vegas, Austin and Miami are also scheduled.
