George Russell won the sprint race in Brazil from third starting position. Carlos Sainz finished runner-up, while Lewis Hamilton crossed the line in third. Max Verstappen had to settle for fourth after starting on mediums and damaging his front wing after a slight touch with Sainz.

Sergio Perez still came very close. He finished just over a second behind Verstappen. Perez took one more point than Charles Leclerc, as the Ferrari driver finished sixth. This puts the Mexican one point ahead in the battle for second place in the world championship.

Lando Norris finished seventh. Pole-sitter Kevin Magnussen clearly lacked speed to match the guys in front. The Danish driver picked up a point on behalf of Haas F1 thanks to his eighth-place finish.

Due to a grid penalty for Sainz, we will have a front row starting with two Mercedes on Sunday. Verstappen and Perez can start attacking 'The Silver Arrows' from a row behind.
