High praise in Italy: Ferrari made a proper F1 presentation
- GPblog.com
This Tuesday, Ferrari presented their car for the 2023 Formula 1 season. This took place in Maranello, the home of the Scuderia, in front of their fans, who were also able to enjoy the first laps of the SF-23 at the Fiorano circuit.
It was a presentation unlike any we have seen so far. In many cases teams featured a car that would not be the one for next season. Instead, they used last year's car with new livery. Most importantly, the presentations organised by the other teams did not include a shakedown immediately following the presentation.
What you expect from a presentation
Many Ferrari fans and non-Ferrari fans alike commented on the event held in Maranello saying that it was exactly what fans want from a presentation. They saw the car that will actually (except for a few details) take to the track in the 2023 season, and most importantly, they saw it already at work, and the whole thing took place between the garages and the track in the car's natural environment.
It may be due to the fact that the Ferrari fanbase is perhaps the most deeply rooted in the entire championship, but the Scuderia di Maranello were the ones who thought of their fans the most. The Tifosi were both in the stands behind the presenter of the event and in the streets around the Fiorano Circuit, enjoying the sight of the first kilometres of the new car.
Ferrari have chosen to do everything at home, without going as far as London or New York, and from an image point of view seems to have hit the mark with this move. Now it remains to be seen whether they will also hit the mark on the track with the new car for Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
