F1 Authentics are offering a special item for fans of Max Verstappen, with the Dutchman's race suit that he won the 2023 Miami Grand Prix in is being auctioned, with all proceeds from the auction going to Wings for Life. The race suit comes from Verstappen's third race win of the 2023 season in Miami,
winning that race after starting P9 on the grid, with the 2023 campaign being a special one for the 27-year-old and Red Bull Racing.
Many records were smashed in what was one of the dominant driver and team combinations the pinnacle of motorsport has ever seen. Verstappen won most of the races that year, while Red Bull broke the team record for the highest percentage of Grand Prix wins in a season with 95.45%, taking 21 out of 22 race wins.
Verstappen signed the suit during the Miami Grand Prix in 2024, and it is now being auctioned by F1 Authentics, with the proceeds going to a special initiative.
Horner "delighted" with the auction
All proceeds from the auction will go to Wings for Life, a charity directly connected to Red Bull and Red Bull Racing. Wings for Life funds global research projects and clinical studies on spinal cord injuries, hoping to one day find a cure. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is proud that his team can contribute to this initiative.
“We’re happy to be supporting our partner charity, Wings for Life, with this F1 Authentics auction of Max’s race suit from his Miami GP race win in 2023. The research that Wings for Life funds is crucial to finding a cure for spinal cord injury, and so we are proud that 100% of proceeds from this auction will go directly to that cause," the Brit said.
Those interested in the race suit will have to dig deep into their pockets. At the time of writing, the highest bid stands at £9000, which is about 10,520 euros.
The next bid must be at least £10,000, which, with the current exchange rate, is about 11,689 euros. The auction runs until May 6, 2025, so there's a good chance that the amount will significantly increase by that time.
