Formula 1 & football | Fifteen-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur

A high-profile deal has been struck between Formula 1 and English football club Tottenham Hotspur. The deal is for at least 15 years and together they will work, among other things, on a programme to train young drivers.
F1 and Tottenham Hotspur join hands
The collaboration between Tottenham and F1 will focus on several points with the most interesting being a 'Driver Academy'. A fully electric kart track will open at the football club's stadium in autumn this year. This kart track will focus on innovation and sustainability and will also try to develop further in this.
There will be exchanges between the brands to create job opportunities for young people and more diversity in motorsport, but there will also be a training opportunity for young talents who want to enter the professional motorsport world.
Better chances to identify next generation of F1 drivers
At Tottenham's website it describes this 'Driver Academy' as follows: "A driver academy programme will widen the motorsport talent pool and help to identify the next generation of F1 drivers." The club and F1 will also start offering educational activities for schools to interest local young people in motorsport; including in the technical field of the sport.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says: "As we continue to grow our sport around the world, partnering with world renowned brands like Tottenham Hotspur allows us to take Formula 1 and motorsport to new and diverse audiences"
