Sainz is clear: 'Pole on Saturday and win on Sunday, always'
- GPblog.com
Carlos Sainz will start his third season with Ferrari this year. There are many who think he will not be the only Spaniard competing at the front this year. Indeed, according to many, Fernando Alonso is also in a good position. Sainz can understand why people think this and is confident that his SF-23 can also compete at the front.
Sainz is only the second Spaniard ever to win a Grand Prix after Alonso. Based on the test results, people think they could even compete for a win together this year. Sainz, however, remains cautious and does not want to believe too much yet from what he has seen in the tests. He is waiting for the first Grand Prix before actually drawing conclusions.

He also states that his goals have not changed despite Red Bull Racing's supposed superiority. "Pole on Saturday and a win on Sunday, always." confirms the Spaniard to Spanish Marca. "If everything is already known, why are you interviewing me? No, the aim of the tests was to drive without problems and we achieved that. We are ready." commented Sainz looking back on the tests with satisfaction.
Sainz satisfied with spot 2?
Sainz is also asked if he is satisfied with second place at the Bahrain Grand Prix. "Thanks for the thoughtful optimism, but I don't know, that's the truth is. I think I like to go to the races with the idea that they can be won. The team did good tests, we understood the car well and that gives me a good feeling in any case." So with that, the Ferrari driver remains cautious.
