Hamilton was eliminated in Q2 and eventually finished qualifying 13th. The race was also fairly frustrating for the seven-time world champion. Hamilton was stuck in a 'DRS train' behind Alexander Albon for a long time. The speed of the W14 is not where it should be, but for the next race in Imola, Mercedes will come up with upgrades.

In Australia, Mercedes was still the second team behind Red Bull Racing, but Australia's form was way off in Baku and Miami. The Mercedes driver hopes the upgrades in Imola will bring about change.
"I've been counting down the days [to the upgrades]. I find out this week what we’re expecitng, what kind of trajectory they put us on, but I’m really hoping. We take the step forward. I think others will bring upgrades as well, so It’ll be really intesting to see where we are with the lay of the land. But I’m excited," Hamilton told Formula 1.
